Blogging hiatus!

Guess I was on a bit of a blogging break...not intentional, just didn't get it done. Pics below of the past couple weeks.

* Jorden can entertain himself for quite a little bit by hitting the couch and trying to catch the dust that flies up in the sunlight. All the more reason to not ever vacuum your furniture.

* It is a pure love/hate relationship with the boys. They are either hugging/kissing/laughing hysterically or they are shoving/hitting/biting. There is no in between.

We love being naked... By the way, that we is only inclusive of people under 5 in this household. We attempt to not scare or make our neighbors sick...

Who cares about the big cats? I love pulling the wagon!

Seriously, am I cuter than him?

Hanging out at the farm with daddy and helping get ready for Papa W's farm sale

My brother is no rocket scientist; you'll see why below...

Maybe if we're really quiet under here, she'll forget it's naptime.

Some notes from our house...

I've left my camera 90 miles south of us at a birthday party. I have cute pics to upload as soon as it returns but here are a few things that have happened at our house:

* My friend, Kelli, had an incident (check her blog out on the side...Barker Boys) where her sons got locked in the car. OnStar saved their lives. We, on the other hand, will probably be banned from OnStar if Isaac continues to get in Jereme's truck when we are getting stuff in and out and calling OnStar!!!

* Jereme has taught the boys to look up in the sky for airplanes and to point to them. The result of that endeavor is that the boys do not say "plane" or anything of the such when they point to the sky but instead are chanting "daddy", "daddy", "daddy".

* The boys went 3 full days without baths this past weekend. If you know our boys, they are constantly in the dirt, mud and who knows what else. What can I say we had a busy weekend with the local high school football game, birthday parties and just fun times! They were a touch stinky but still cute as ever!

Life doesn't get much better when you're riding in a car than to be watching a DVD, holding onto lovey and sucking on Stinky Binky!

Momma's happy boys!

Some people have boats in their 3rd car spot. Some people have RV's in those spots. Not us; nope, we are sporting a brand-new Asgrow/DEKALB weigh wagon. That's how we roll, baby!

This only happens once per year...

Well, so it's official. I must admit I was wrong. This is my one wrong for 2008. Paying what I assumed was an astronomical amount for a babysitter turned out to be worth every single dang penny!!! Not because the boys had a blast and loved being doted on all day long. And, not because they went to bed and right to sleep like little champs for a new person. And, not because it was wonderful to come right home and have our kiddos here without shuffling kids to and from the grandparents. But, because that sweet girl organized the toy room, picked up every piece of children's clothing, cleaned up the bath mess, AND washed/dried all the dinner dishes while cleaning up the kitchen. My house was cleaner than when I left it!!! And, NO, I will not give you her name/number if you live near us. She's OURS!!!!

Oh, and you know what else was worth $100 this weekend? A portable DVD player! Why did we wait this long? We all drove up to a picnic at one of Jereme's clients this afternoon. It was about 1 hour and 45 minutes from our house. The boys only watched a 30-minute movie on the way there and back but it was just perfect. It was right about the time in the drive when they usually freak in their car seats and mommy wonders why it is against the law to have a good, stiff drink in the passenger seat.

The picnic was out on the farm...the boys were the main event as you can imagine in their overalls and with their natural ability to get dirty within 2 minutes of arriving someplace. They ran all over the farm, played in water puddles, fascinated themselves with rock piles and in general, charmed everyone there with smiles, hugs and waves.

Boy, how times have changed!

I distinctly remember being about an 8th grader and babysitting 12 hours one day for a family from church. I had to be there at 7 am and they didn't get back home until 7 pm. It was a family with 2 children. I would guess the kids were probably about 4 and 6 at the time...a boy and a girl. They were ornery little kids but what kids aren't? Anyways, it was a long day as the weather was iffy and their father was an undercover narcotics cop and wouldn't allow us to be outside if he wasn't home. I got paid $15 for that 12 hour day. Perhaps, they took advantage of me. All right, all right, yes, they had me over the barrel.

For the first time, EVER, we are hiring a babysitter. The boys are 17 months and have rarely been left even in the care of the grandparents but the time has come to hire a sitter. In typical fashion, we aren't just hiring a sitter so we can go to dinner. No sir, we are hiring them for the day so we can attend a KSU football game. We will be gone between 8-9 hours. The total cost for babysitting at my house for 8-9 hours? Try almost 7 times what I made that day long ago. Looks like I need to go find that old barrel again!!!
