Moments that take your breath away...

You're probably thinking this is going to be some sappy post. And, it might get that way, but that's not how it starts.

Yesterday, we took the boys to the mall to see Santa. We also put them on the train in the mall for them to ride. They were thrilled...they were on the train, eating candy canes and smiling super cute for anyone who would watch. They had gone around the track about 3 times. For some reason (ok, not just for some reason, but God's provision!), I walked along side them the next time around the track. Thank You, Lord, for prompting me...about halfway around the track, right at a corner where the train is super close to the fence, the boys' door swung open b/c the LOCK WAS BROKEN!. Isaac fell out and was under his train car while it was still moving! Without even thinking, a naughty word flew out of my mouth and I reached down and pulled him out from under the train while it continued to speed along. It all happened so fast, I can't really even remember the rest but I know pretty quickly Isaac was in my arms and safe.

Scary moments that take your breath away! We are SO very thankful that sweet and ornery little boy is just fine! Made momma cry more than Isaac!

Explanation...

Bet you were wondering why all this frigid weather is headed our way. It's because little Miss I-Don't-Participate-Very-Much-In-Christmas-Activities put her Christmas cards in the mail, has all her shopping done AND all the presents wrapped. Christmas truly is a season of miracles, eh?

What to do on cold, boring winter days (and it's not even technically winter yet!)

Momma only THOUGHT she could keep us separated by changing the room. She's not willing to admit we can outsmart her already!

Jorden: Hmmm, I wonder...

Oh ya!!

Isaac: Oh man! I can't believe I didn't think of this!

Isaac: Yes!
Jorden: Big deal, I already did that.

Changing my ways...

In the past, I've been accused of being a little bit of a Scrooge as I really dislike decorating for Christmas. In fact, for the most part, I just flat refused to do it. But, after MUCH pressure to do something "for the boys" this year, I conceded. We even beat my mom on getting decorations up!!

***Wow, we are just really over the top with our decorations, wouldn't you say??***

We may not agree (AT ALL!!!) with KSU's recent hiring decision, but we're still gonna show them some love.

And, I suppose we are willing to kiss...

and make up!

Um, this is how we found the twinks on Thanksgiving morning...notice in the SAME bed (you could probably guess it is Jorden's crib as he appears less than thrilled with the notion that his brother can get in!). We have rearranged the room and will provide a memo to its tenants that they will NOT be leaving their cribs for big boy beds any time soon!

Thanksgiving Day

Jorden and cousin Ashton are wondering if Isaac does not know how to eat with a utensil.

And, obviously, the answer to that question is NO!

I love my boys

Still working as a team...

Jereme and his "mini-me"

Rough-housing with daddy

First time bubble bath...they don't know what to think!

Finally, we get some privacy from momma taking pictures in the tub!

So sweet, so cute!

Don't be fooled by my sweet smile and innocent face...I'm totally ornery!

It's entirely possible...

Situations like tonight make it all the more probable that the first comprehendable words out of our boys mouths for others may not be so pretty.

We were reading bedtime stories. I've been working really hard with the boys at recognizing animals, trucks, tractors, combines, balls, you name it in different books. They weren't super cooperative tonight showing off their skills to daddy. In fact, they wouldn't point to a single picture when asked. I turn the page and think I will try one more time.

Me: Where's the cow? Point to the cow.

Isaac whips his head around and stares up at me.

Me: {Thinking to myself...ignore that one.}

Jereme: {Laughing hysterically, can't get it under control, boys now giggling, too.}

Me: Screw you, Jereme.

Should I take offense?

Here are few situations at our house that I am wondering about. Should I be offended that...

*...my typically clingy children can hardly tear themselves away from their babysitter/toys to give me a hug when I return home after a little outing?

*...I have to carry two screaming kids home from Miss J*****'s (our neighbor) if we go over to play in the afternoon because they love her house/garage and their toys so much?

*...when I was dressing the other morning (yes, I usually stay in my pajama's until mid-morning unless we are going someplace!!!) with an audience of two toddlers that Isaac kept looking at me nakkie and laughing hysterically over and over again?

That can't be right...

I just sent an email to a friend and noticed the "ticker" (also at the top of the blog) said the boys were 1 year and 7 months. WHAT? 1 YEAR AND 7 MONTHS? When did that happen?

I am scared, very scared. Those of you veteran parents know what is in our very near future. Tantrums galore and I can hardly even type these words p.o.t.t.y. t.r.a.i.n.i.n.g.
The Wildcats need to be scoring more of these...

I give up!

Hey, no one told me we had a cherry tree out back!

Hmmmmm, I don't think these are cherries (but I still eat them!).

These two working together on anything scares me a little bit...

Update from yesterday...

An anonymous comment was left asking if the nursery worker called the boys "corkers" or "quirkers". I looked up "corkers" and here is the definition:

Slang: A remarkable or astounding person or thing.

Now I am sure, completely sure, she called them corkers.

Hey, my blog, my story!

Help me understand what this means...

Today I picked the boys up from the nursery after Bible study. One of the nursery workers finds me and says:

"Your boys are real quirkers, aren't they? They are so full of um, well, I guess personality."

I don't know what that means but I am guessing she was being politically correct???

Prince resigning??

***Update: Not so much of a resignation. A non-renewal of contract.***

It seems that way. It should be official in the next 15 minutes or so. Speculation is he will coach the remainder of the season.

You know, I feel for him. He just lost his father, too. I've never thought he was the "one" for our Cats. I put this on the heads of our Weiser (AD), Wefald (president) and Snyder. Can you blame Prince for taking this chance? It was a helluva opportunity for him. He wasn't ready. Or he might not be D-I material altogether but a few more years of experience as an assistant would've shown that to be true or not.

Now, we try to pick up the pieces of a program that was beginning to crumble in Snyder's last year or two and has only gotten worse. I just feel bad for Prince. He wasn't the coach the Cats needed. KSU administration made a huge error of judgment. I hope we've learned...

Catching up...

You aren't for real, are you? I gotta wear this thing in public???!!!

Seriously, does it look like we are having fun???

Ok, hold on, wait a sec. You're saying if I ring this doorbell and look cute, I get candy? I'm in!

And, when the meltdowns began, our evening ended. Notice Isaac in the background...while his brother is having a fit, he has quietly found himself a Butterfinger, opened it up and ate it all!
