Happy Easter and ????

And, it can only last for so long...hug? Heimlich? Takedown?

One more for the "I never thought I'd be saying" record book...who knew you'd have to train your children to not chew up their baby brother's booster chair???

Just so I will remember...

I need to figure out how to print this blog off so I can keep it and remind my darling children someday when they have their own children of the things they said and did. Isaac was on a roll today. Here are just a few of the things I heard:

*"Momma, I want a real kitty cat. Not a pretend one like you gave to Jorden when he wanted one."

*"Ok, momma, I think it's time for you to start obeying me."

*"Ok, toot." (Me: Isaac, stop saying that word.) "Ok, diaper." (Isaac, NO MORE toot or diaper!). "Ok, pull-up." (ISAAC, I am serious, no more using any of those type of words. I mean it, if you say anything close to those words, you'll have a consequence.) *silence, then, very quietly * "Ok, rooster." (ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!)

*Me: (standing in hallway wondering what Isaac is doing behind closed doors)"Isaac, what are you doing?"
Isaac: "You don't need to worry about that."

That'll teach him...

It was an accident. Really and truly. Sunday afternoon we were outside, enjoying a beautiful afternoon. Jereme and I were playing baseball with the little boys. Jereme was the pitcher and I was acting as catcher. Jereme was lipping off about how I wasn't doing a very good job. I thought, well, I'll show him next time...we'll see if he can catch my hardest throw. What I didn't realize was that he wasn't paying attention when I threw it and my aim might've been a wee bit off. And, a wee bit low. In fact, as Jereme was looking over at Isaac, I might've thrown a fast, hard ball and hit the poor guy in his um, er, groin-area.

I'd like to tell you that my reaction was to run over and make sure he was okay as his feet seem to fly out from under him and he face-planted into the ground and curled into the fetal position. Really, that's what I wish I would've done. Instead, I was laying on the ground laughing so hard I was crying and trying super hard to not wet my own pants.

The boys couldn't figure out what the heck was going on and kept asking Jereme what was wrong. Then, they'd ask me but I still couldn't pull it together to stop laughing. Jereme was near tears. Finally, he managed to to gasp, "YOUR MOM HIT ME IN MY BALLS!" (Which, I am sure will come back to haunt me in the most inappropriate moment one can imagine.)

Moral of the story...better make sure you're paying attention when you're smarting off to me!!

4!

This past Sunday, on the 10th, our little boys turned 4 years old. I truly don't even know how that happens!? I can still remember holding those little feather-weights. They still love to be held and I pray that there are plenty more days ahead of that!

As with every age, I think there are such joys and yet also struggles. Our boys are so independent and they are FULL of personality. We love that they are high-energy, full of things to say and have wild imaginations. But, along with that comes rambunctious behavior, not always cute and delightful things out of their mouths, not a lot of peace and quiet and destruction. I sometimes feel like this age is almost as exhausting as the early weeks of twins nursing every 2 hours, almost.

But, we are so humbled and grateful that God chose to bless us with Isaac and Jorden.

Isaac still loves anything to do with farming. It blows us away the things he knows and talks to us about. He has no shortage of things to say and conversations with him could last forever. He does *NOT* like unfamiliar dogs but he *LOVES* eating at Mexican restaraunts. He is tall and lean, wearing mostly 5T clothing. But, to be honest, he prefers to just be nakkie.

Jorden loves race cars and really wants to drive one. He has a special green race car that Poppa and Mimi gave him about 8 months ago that he carries around most everywhere. Jorden loves to tease people closest to him. He is a sweetheart and loves hugs, kisses and telling you how much he loves us. He is also tall, lean and wearing 5T. And, as you might guess, nakkieness is preferred by him, too.

Both boys love their little brother and are usually very good with him. They take their job of protecting Luke quite seriously! They also love to "read" books and can't get enough of people reading to them.

For their birthday, we took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge. They had a blast!!

3 boys ready to go!!

Everyone was super excited about the "Wolf Den" and bunk beds!

Remember the nakkie comment? I am not kidding...when we told the boys we were going to go swimming, Jorden stripped his clothes off and ran to the door. He was halfway out before Jereme caught him!!

And, sweet Luke, took a pretty big spill and busted open his chin. But, nothing keeps Luke from being happy for too long!

Daddy's boys...

Yesterday, Jereme called to see if the boys wanted to work with him in the afternoon. That answer was a resounding YES. The boys were near heart failure as they ran around getting their shoes, socks and hats on before daddy got home. Luke *knew* something was up so he quickly went and got his boots and stood waiting at the back door.

Boy oh boy was he heartbroken when daddy loaded up Isaac and Jorden and drove off. He screamed bloody murder forever after Jereme left eventually gagging himself and throwing up all over the floor. Seriously, could these kids be any more in love with their daddy!?

Anyways, the boys and Jereme delivered seed to a few dealers and stopped by the big test plot in Concordia to do a little work, too. Then, they all went to supper at Dairy Queen...it was just shortly before 8 pm when they got back home.

And, today, as the boys watched sadly when daddy drove off for work without them, they declared that yesterday was simply, "the best day of my life!"

(Early) Birthday Boys and Bikes

It nearly breaks my heart to post these pictures. I am quite certain my boys aren't big enough to be doing things like riding bikes. The boys got early birthday presents this weekend from Poppa and Mimi. I can't even guess how many miles were ridden today...but, I can count that 1 bloody elbow and 2 scraped knees later meant 2 worn out little boys who barely made it to their pillows before falling asleep. That's my kind of math!!!

Meeting of the minds as daddy lays down the law...

Who are these big boys????

Couldn't be any happier!!

These are the days...

Isaac: Bossing Jorden on how to correctly do his jumping/dance routine to Isaac's "music" and Monster Truck song...

Jorden: Happily ticking Isaac off by doing exactly the OPPOSITE of what he is being told...

Luke: Delightfully entertained by it all...
