Great start to the week...
I try hard not to compare ****** to Pratt simply b/c you can't compare the town/city. But, imagine my surprise when I went to renew tags/registration in ****** this morning and it was a whopping $198 cheaper to register here than in Pratt!! Wahooooooooo!

Discrimination and A Dismal Look Into My Future
Infant and toddler boys are a victim of discrimination. You other mothers of little boys know what I am talking about. You go out to find shoes (insert shorts, shirt, jeans, etc) and can go to 15 different stores, but it will remain the same. For every pair of little boy shoes, there will be at least 15 pairs for little girls in all styles and colors possible. Do I not even get the option to try and raise a metrosexual? What if my boys want 10 pair of shoes in all different colors?????
But, on that note, the boys officially own their first pair of REAL shoes.
Last week, the tire blew out in my minivan on my way home from farming. The kiddos all took it in stride, even though it was 1.5 hours past bedtime and hot. I tried to convince Jereme that was a sign from God to trade my van off and buy me something else. He disagreed. In fact, he replaced all 4 tires with 90,000 mile Michelin's. Guess I'll be driving that stupid van for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

Thoughts from harvest...
* No matter how excellent your truck driver is (can you guess who she is?), having only one truck slows things WAY down!
* Eating roast, mashed potatoes, carrots, homemade rolls and cherry pie with ice cream is not conducive to going out in the 90-degree weather and sitting. It makes a truck driver VERY sleepy and a little uncomfortable.
* In the beginning, I had much sympathy for Jereme in the combine. But, as I climb into the ice-cold cab of the combine with the cushy seat, all sympathy flew out the window.
* Drinking 4 diet pops in a 4-hour period will not counteract the sleepiness incurred b/c of item #2.
* The Grandma and great-Grandma are vitally important to this operation. Who else feeds you so well and takes excellent care of the the twins so we can harvest? They've had them most of the day for the past 4 days. The boys seem to love it.
* Don't mess with the Grandpa when he is climbing into the motor of old Jesse truck for the 3rd time. And, don't stand within throwing distance either. When the brakes continue to not work, parts might start flying!!!

Wheat harvest is here!!
Both boys have officially been indoctrinated into "farm boys!" They ride on the tractor and combine and no tears! They love it. Yesterday, they each rode the combine for about an hour with daddy. They sit on his lap and help steer or sit on the floor and watch the header at work. Grandpa's wheat is doing great so far!

Tough little boy...
Jorden Samuel is one tough little boy. He survived his eye surgery today and did wonderful. By the way, mom and dad handled it pretty well. How is it that 90 minutes can seem like an eternity???
Enjoying early morning Jello with daddy before surgery
I am sure in the not too distant future, you'll see another picture like this but the battle wound will have come from brother!
Isaac doing his best to act surprised by this mess

Whooooo-hooooooooo!
Jereme has been gone to Boca Raton, FL this whole week, playing. Ooops, I mean, "working". The boys and I are headed to the airport to pick up our most favorite guy this afternoon. I am SO grateful to be getting my partner-in-crime back.

I love those boys!
Well, if you were in our state tonight, you know our city of ****** got some excitement with tornadic weather! I had to scoop the twinks out of bed around 845 (they'd been asleep for an hour). They did wonderful. We played on a blanket under the stairs and in between the three massive storms that passed over us. It was scary times but I remained outwardly calm while my heart raced!! After playing for almost 2 hours, the boys were wound up, to say the least. I was prepared to do Cry It Out for them to go back to sleep. I brought them upstairs, sang a song with them and put them in bed. Sweet little boys giggled at me, laid down and I haven't heard a peep out of them since. They really are the best!
Oh Happy Day...

Momma is a dense one.
I, apparently, just don't get it. I really want my kids to take one big nap per day. Who wouldn't? You get the mornings to do all the fun stuff and then you put your kids down at 1 pm and expect them to nap till 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm as they should be EXHAUSTED from no nap and all the playing. Obviously, my kids didn't get that memo.
I know what some of you are saying:
You just have to make them do it.
Ok, please, you come up and stay for a week and make my kids do anything they don't want to. Make sure you give me some notice so I can buy some beer as this will be pure entertainment for me.
You just have to stick it out, it's a tough adjustment.
Really? REALLY? See above answer.
They will nap longer eventually.
Can you define (and more importantly guarantee) eventually? Like this month or are we talking in 6 months.
Put them down earlier for one big nap.
Ok, but they still only nap for 90 minutes. I can hardly stand them from 3:00 pm till 7:30 pm when they've only had 90 minutes of sleep. You want me to be alone with them even longer???? I'll need you to bring some more beer with you, then!

The Democratic Nomination...
I found my father's assessment of the two politicians vying for the Democratic nomination for presidency quite accurate.
